I was raised in Virginia, graduated from the University of Virginia, and spent ten years in Raleigh, NC. I met my wife Stella there, who is first generation American--her mother brought 5 siblings over from Greece. We moved to Ann Arbor in 1998 to look after her mother, and had a son, Kyriakos, who is now 18. Both of my parents passed in the last two years, after long, ugly battles, so I have a lot of empathy for Caregivers, but also understand that caring for parents is not the same as caring for wounded love ones.
I was lost/troubled/confused as a young adult, and failed to serve our country while eligible to do so: it is probably my biggest regret in life. My father served in Korea, and we have many, many close and dear friends who have served, so I am grateful for the opportunity to serve those who served.
